Jenniffer & Company’s Own, Heather Slaybaugh is a Semi-Finalist for Goldwell’s Color Zoom Challenge!

Heather Slaybaugh is one of five semi-finalists in the Color Zoom Challenge to be judged next month at Goldwell Headquarters in Germany. Slaybaugh participated in the Creative Category. Judging criteria included: Interpretation of the trend world, color technique, product use, professionalism, and aesthetics of the picture.

Heathers model (as seen above) is truly a work of art. Thousands of entries were submitted, and few made the cut. This is a tremendous success for both Heather and Jenniffer & Co.

Heather’s inspiration for her work was the tiger lily. Heather said, “Growing up we had tons of them in the flower beds. I would stare at their bold, strong color with amazing details, subtle until the light woke it up. Just naked is all about color blooming and refined simplicity.”

Choosing a model for such an important role is not an easy task, but for Heather, she was right next door.

“My model is Catherine Sampson. Surprisingly enough she is my neighbor and friend. Not many stylists can say they have such a treasure in their front yard (along with lots of tiger lilies); so I’m pretty lucky. I searched for a model high and low knowing I wanted to do red tones. Not an easy bill to fit, so I turned to Catherine who had modeled for me in the past. She is a stay at home mom and jeweler. Working together in the past, I knew she was great in front of the camera along with being acquainted with her hair, it set me at ease and allowed the creative juices to flow!”

If Heather is chosen to move on, she will compete in Paris, France, in the international live competition.

When asked what being a semi-finalist meant to Heather, she responded:

“Being a semi-finalist in my first year competing is absolutely an amazing feeling. It makes me feel so accomplished. Winning this honor makes me feel like I can do anything. Having such big names in the hair world agreeing my work is Goldwell worthy…that’s big.” Heather is fully prepared to move on in the competition to Paris.

“Moving forward to Paris I have so many things going through my mind. The biggest? What is next year’s color trend, and what will I create next. I am so excited and blessed. My support team is huge and plentiful, and yes, I dream in color.”
